ENNIS POLICE DEPARTMENT TECHNOLOGY
The Ennis Police Department has taken great strides recently in the utilization of various technologies to assist our officers and make the City of Ennis and it's citizens safer.
The Ennis Police Department utilizes Mobile Video Units in all of our first line patrol cars. This means that each of the cars that are normally driven during a shift have video systems installed. The video systems are Watchguard Video Systems model DV-1. These systems provide for greatly increased documentation on many cases. The video evidence obtained since the system has been in service has proven invaluable in the court cases in which the video evidence is submitted.
The Ennis Police Department also utilizes complete Mobile Data Computer systems that allow officers to communicate wirelessly. The systems consist of Panasonic Toughbook and Dell Latitude D810 notebook computers installed with L&E Mobile Mounts. The system utilizes the Sierra Wireless MP775 GPRS Modem with GPS. The Modem uses the AT&T GPRS network. The software that is utilized to communicate between the officers and allow them access to all of the databases useful to field officers is the San Antonio Police Department's ARTS system.
The Ennis Police Department has recently totally replaced our in-house computer systems. Our new system is eFORCE. The software for our eFORCE CAD and RMS systems supplied supported by Intelli-choice.
