It's O.K. to have a
problem, we all have problems. Family,
finances, your job, marriage, a death in the family, deadlines, they can all
create stress, which can create emotional problems which can lead to drug
abuse, alcohol abuse, or worse.
The person next to
you, or the one in the room down the hall, the captain you just talked to an
hour ago, or the secretary who just handed you a memo, even the chief of the
department, they all face the some of the same kinds of problems that you
do. But some of us are not going to
deal with our problems alone. We are
going to need help and that is what the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
is all about.
EAP is a program of the Ennis Fire Department that provides
confidential counseling and referral services to you and your family
members. EAP is handled through the
Ennis Fire Department Chaplain. There
are no enrollment forms or membership cards required, all you need to do is
pick up the telephone and call the Fire Department chaplain.
This program is
confidential, so confidential that you probably didn't realize that many of you
co-workers have been using it for sometime.
The EAP program is there
to help you cope, but don't wait if you need someone to talk to, call the
chaplain for counseling and referral services.
