The City Of Ennis Fire
Department has a policy to furnish manpower and equipment to those neighboring
cities that request help during major fires or other emergency incidents. This aid agreement is in written contract
form and is reciprocal.
The authority to furnish mutual-aid to requesting cities is given to the following personnel:
FIRE CHIEF
ASST. FIRE CHIEF
SHIFT COMMANDERS
CITY MANAGER
When our department is requested for mutual-aid, the following must be considered:
Equipment
Status
Manpower
Status
Your
own Situation (Activities, Potential for incident due to the weather)
Availability
of off-duty and volunteer personnel for recall.
After the above factors have been considered and you have the capability to furnish aid, follow these guidelines:
Send
equipment requested with at least two firefighters.
Report
to designated area given by requesting city.
Work
under their Command System (don't freelance)
Keep
safety at the top of your list.
If
uncommitted, keep radio on priority scan.
The City of Ennis Fire
Department has established a policy to send aid into the County, when it is
requested by the proper authority. This
aid will only be sent when there is a severe risk to life, valuable property,
or severe exposure hazards. When aid is
sent, equipment and manpower must still be reserved in the City to protect our
citizens, therefore; consider the same factors as in mutual-aid.
As a general rule, you
may consider furnishing aid to a requesting agency when the incident is within
six (6) miles of the Ennis City Limits.
This would allow you reasonable response time in order to be effective
and still allow us to recall men and equipment if needed within the city.
County aid will only be considered when it is requested by agency having
authority. DO NOT SEND AID IF
YOU ARE NOT REOUESTED !!!.
The authority to
