Registration for the Entry Exam is Open

Ennis Fire Department will conduct a written examination for Firefighter on November 8, 2011 at 5:30 PM.

Physical Ability Test will be conducted on Saturday, November 12, 2011.

This test is for an immediate opening and potential openings after January 1, 2012.

Starting Annual Salary for this position is $41,872

Entry Qualifications:  

 It is a requirement to be a certified firefighter in the State of Texas and an EMT.  You must have both certifications or copies of your grades indicating you have passed your state exams in hand to take the test.  If you have not completed school, or you are waiting to take your state test you will not be allowed to test.  No exceptions!

Call Lisa Laza, Fire Administration Secretary at 972-878-1234, ext. 2240 and register to reserve your place by Friday, November 4th at 4:00 PM.    After you register you will then be given a registration number and the test location.    If you are not registered, you will not be allowed to test.  No exceptions!

Remember your registration number and bring it with you.

  Please bring legible copies of the following:

1.                  Current and valid Texas Department of State Health Services EMS certification

2.                  Current and valid Texas Fire Commission Certification.

3.                  High school diploma or equivalent

4.                  Current and valid drivers license

5.                  DD214 if ever in the military

6.                  If just tested, bring a copy of your test scores from the state and PIN Number.

            The City of Ennis Fire Department requires that you live within a 30 mile radius, so if you are hired and do not live within the 30 mile radius you will be required to move within six (6) months of employment.
